LL postcard of SS ALERT in harbour at SARK - note passengers dress - Suits & dresses with hats !!

Built for freight + passengers,the Alert had two holds for freight, the forward 38 tons & aft 12 tons &.she was launched in 1885.
She was used throughout the Channel Islands until 1913 when she was sold to a Turkish company & re-named HAIRDOULAH.. Sunk in 1915 near Rodosto.
