ALGERIA IMPERF SUNKEN DIE PROOFS for all eight designs of the 1936-40 pictorial definitive issue, all printed in unissued colours on cream paper with Posts and Telegraphs cachet in red and various printers markings applied. Includes proofs for the "A Halt in The Sahara" design for the 65c (three) in violet, in blue, and in purple, the "Colomb Bechar-Qued" design (three) for the 75c in lake, in deep violet, and in deep green, the "Lambese - Arc de Triomphe" design for the 90c in green, the "Ghardaia-Maza" design (three) for the 30c in yellow-green, in brown, and in reddish-lilac, the "Admiralty and Penon Lighthouse" design for the 50c in sepia, the "Touggourt Marabout" design for the 40c in blue, the "Moslem Cemetery Tiemcen" design (two) for the 45c in in magenta and in deep blue, plus the "Mosque El Kebir" design for the 1fr in sepia. Approx size of each 140 x 110mm, and with a range of issued mint stamps alongside with values from between 1c and 20fr. Beautiful display items.
