Birds of Polish parks
On 16 February 2024, four postage stamps worth PLN 3.90 of the Birds of Polish Parks issue were put into circulation.
The stamps were printed using offset technique + stochastic raster , on fluorescent paper, in stamp format 51 x 39.50 mm, in an edition of 112,000 units each. The sheet contains 8 stamps.
The stamps depict birds occurring in Polish parks: great spotted woodpecker, sharp-tailed woodpecker, scoter and primrose.
In the lower left corner of the stamps there is an inscription: Birds of Polish parks, along the right edge the inscription: POLAND, in the upper right corner the value mark: PLN 3.90.
The issue is accompanied by two FDC envelopes - the first one depicts a primrose and a scoter on stamps, the second one a woodpecker and a sharp-tailed woodpecker.
The date stamp depicts a branch of a fruiting bush - the natural food of birds.
The content consultant of the "Birds of Polish Parks" issue is Mr Andrzej Kruszewicz, PhD, an outstanding Polish ornithologist and director of the Warsaw Zoological Garden. The photographs used in the graphics of the stamps are by Mr Maciej Zdziarski, journalist, photographer, author of, among others, the book "Na skrzydłach. About people, birds and the joy of life".
The "Birds of Polish Parks" issue has been published since 2022 - this is its third edition.
