i agree, there should be some control over access to some areas of delcampe but how this would be done is up to sebastien and his staff. and perhaps more supervision of the forum also. i have been guilty of some infractions with risque pictures on the forum done only as humor. i don't sell porno, just stamps. but then some famous stamps do have nude art. and that there are some differing standards of sexual tolerance in europe in comparison to america, e.g. a walk along the beaches of europe vs. the ones in america. or the open brothels of amsterdam. but for your school children i can understand your concern being a grandfather. let's hope a solution will be brought forward from sebastien and his crew.

So sorry to see that and I have to admit that I had to go down very fast so I wouldn't have to see it. I guess in my eyes there should be a law against such nasty pictures shown.
When I was helping out on a private owned web site that do not believe in such things and had to report them to be removed before anyone ever saw anything bad.
Long story short is if you see a person that is new yet has a web site then 9 tines out 10 is a porno and should be reported a.s.a.p. Be sure to to get the persons ID or their lot number to be able to tell the boss about it. If you don't say a word about it then you are saying it's okay to show the pics. Just my thoughts,smurf

our teacher friend was only trying to make his point although he probably could have censored his image a little. the problem with the site is there is no age verification as with many sites. so access is quite easy to the 'adult' sections. this is not so on ebay where you must provide proof of your age by submitting a credit card or such. this proves you are 18 or older. and then you can be allowed on their 'adult' sight to view their venues. unfortunately, this is not the case on delcampe, although, it could be done by this method. but you must understand, this is an european auction. and as i said, the europeans views on sex are not the same as americans. what is on their tv is not on ours, or what is in their magazines may not be in ours. it is a different lifestyle, and we must accept it. but if delcampe is to be international, he must accept 'rules' of the community too. and in this case, the teacher made a very good point. even in america, this has happened many times.

I am trying to work it out if this picturre was taken from another thread on Delcampe? What connection to stamp collecting? Judging by the number of visits it has had in a short time it is popular with Philatelists!!!
In my opinion it should be taken off immediately by the moderator,,, The rest of us, with good memories, have no shortage of that kind of internet entertainment Richard

i believe the teacher was making a complaint about this kind of material being available to his students in his class while they were looking for stamps. and it upset him to see it. and i understand his point too. there are no safeguards in place to allow adults only to view this material. i believe ebay has a system of age verification to do just this. however, this may be only for america, does this apply in europe, i don't know. and this question was put on the proper delcampe website forum, not the philatelic forum. and yes, the image should have been modified before posting. a simple windows paint program can do that.

In the next version of the site. Adult images will be hidden (except if the right disclaimer has been accepted)... at least for the images put in the right adult categories. Other items will have to be reported to us and we will manage to educate concerned seller.

shock and awe, you have responded. however, questions will be brought forward i am sure. first, what is this 'right disclaimer and acceptance'? proof of age? and only for the seller, not viewer or buyer? and in the 'right adult categories'? as seen in the philatelic sales, we often see incorrect items put into incorrect categories. and what adult images should be considered inappropriate? i am afraid another pandora's box will be created. but i wish the team and you good luck "educating" the masses.

Okay the image was used to discuss this topic of unrestricted viewing, but really it could have been a bit more subtle, as without any guesses we all know what its implying, just a single person there would have done the same thing, brought the topic.

Imsure the headline did bring a few to read, & think Europeans offering services
Quite agree in Europe what they have on satalite is quite different to what we Brits can see here, but I would be bothered for my 12 & 14 year olds to see images like these.
All this sort of thing is fine with 18+ we are old enough then to make a choice, even if some get obsessed with it.

So much young innocence & young life is spoilt far too early by 'sexual' imagery & style, lets support Sebastien & the Delcampe Team in keeping out such images by them having some age system, plus an easy reporting system on the sellers page. This is how YouTube & similar works.

But the UK is part of Europe !!!
In many ways it is more liberal than some of the other countries.

I'm sure that when Cajunsr referred to Europe, he was including the UK, just as you would include Newfoundland in Canada, Madagascar in Africa, and Japan in Asia.

It does seem regrettable to have repeated the picture so prominently under that heading to complain about it and of course draw attention to it, but that's what people who complain about such things always do. Lady Chatterley's Lover was a huge bestseller after its trial, read by many thousands of people who would never have dreamt of buying one otherwise.

Yes indeed. The topic is brought up again, brought to the top of the list again, every time that you or anyone else brings it up again. Which single person do you want. This one ?

Or do you want a picture of the single man (who could in fact be married too, but not necessarily to the lady) ?

The single lady might catch an adolescent's eye in an inevitable way which you presumably think is undesirable, but there is nothing he would not have seen for himself on the beaches of Europe, including even Jersey and Weymouth, with a bit of luck in nice weather. It could even be his Mum.

It is obvious to you what the gentleman is doing because clearly you know all about this sort of thing. However, from either the entire original picture or the picture of the man, it is not obvious what is going on unless you already know: a child would not know and not be particularly interested.
