and a happy bastille day when it comes up to you my cousin. a salute from both of us war veterans to you. as we know and this is not a saying from g.w. bush, the coward who never has fought for his country, but from those who have, 'freedom is not free'. it cost the blood of many brave souls and the fields of flanders, the coast of normandy, and the wooded shade trees of arlington are the proof. the small monuments in white are the testaments of many men of differing faiths, countries, and beliefs that fought to preserve a way of life they thought to be their own. so the 'freedom' is not often our own, but could be for someone else. just something to ponder in our old age. take care my cousin, and as always, the best to you and your family as well.

let's see if my french cousins can whoop them parmesian eatin' lover boys. . i hope it will be a good clean sportmanship match. all the players have done so well, they are to be commended. this is no sport for whimps. that sure was true between italy and germany the other night when i watched. a lot like rugby and american football. no wonder the americans are finding it so fascinating. well, i hope the italians don't cry too much when they lose or the french get too angry if they lose. it is the spirit in which we play the games that counts. and being friends afterwards is the best reward along with great food and drink from both countries. cofffee, coffee, coffee. take care my cousins.
